George Booth Rudd joined The Royal School Coaching Team in September 2022.

He is a former assistant junior coach at an Oxfordshire-based club and an outstanding swimmer himself.

George will fulfill an integral role in our proven and successful team, which has consistently placed medallists on the international stage such as Alice Dearing, Tom Derbyshire, and Olympic Champion, Matt Richards.

Head Coach Marc Spackman said,

“I am delighted to have appointed George as our Elite Squad Assistant Coach and Lead Academy Coach. George will bring a wealth of experience in swimming and fit into our system perfectly.”

George cannot wait to get started to help all swimmers achieve the highest levels possible in swimming and academic success.

This appointment provides consistency and excellence and continues from our previous coach, Tom Elgar who contributed to our outstanding success for the past 8 years. Tom arrived at the Royal as a swimmer/coach and now takes up his role as Head Coach at Maxwell Swim Club.
