George started his swimming career at the age of 9 at the City of Oxford Swimming Club and made his first county championships in 2015 when he was 13. He qualified for the Regional championships two years later and the summer nationals in that same year. He initially lived in Plymouth and attended Plymouth College School doing a variety of sports such as Rugby, Football, Cricket, and Tennis.

He is a former national swimmer with success at British and English nationals who decided to take the next step into developing the next generation of swimmers. His first major break as a swimmer was at his first summer nationals in 2017 where he qualified in the 200m Butterfly final and came out 5th. George qualified for every home Nations championships since and went to the British Summer championships individually in 2018 and recently in 2022 for a relay. George’s philosophy is centred around a team, and he is excited to bring this aspect to the Academy squad.

He was volunteering from a young age at his first club of City of Oxford (COSC) qualifying as a level 1 & 2 teacher and level 1 coach working from 2018 every Saturday with the learn to swim and helping the 4 academy squads in 2019/2020 while also competing under them until moving to Maidenhead in mid-2020 to swim and coach to both county and regional level at both former clubs until finally moving here to RWS. Coming from a high achieving coaching family background George is extremely confident to become the best coach possible. His eagerness to learn, pushes him forward rapidly in his coaching career..

George’s optimism and enthusiasm shines through every day and he is very excited about starting his new coaching role and passing on his extensive knowledge to help all children be the best they can.
