Home Nations Championships

The National Summer Meet is Swim England’s biggest domestic swimming event of the year. The Summer Meet forms part of a swimming competition structure in Great Britain whereby the top ranked swimmers in each event are invited to compete at the British Swimming Summer Championships. The next ranked swimmers at Swim England affiliated clubs – or those who have chosen to be ranked as an English swimmer – are invited to compete at the Nationals. The rankings are on swimmers’ performances at level 1 meets between a qualification window, typically between March and May of the same calendar year.

British Summer Championships

The British Summer Championships saw the next generation of swimmers competing for honors against their biggest domestic rivals. The 2017 British Summer Championships took place across six days at Ponds Forge in Sheffield from 25–30 July. The Championships form part of a broader Performance Pathway Strategy aimed at increasing and supporting junior talent on the journey towards senior medal-winning performance, as well as offering more athletes across the home nations an opportunity to compete at one of the end of season events.
